While Dick worked as a city planner, I played trumpet in the York Pennsylvania Symphony. When the family moved to Syracuse, New York, I sang in the 250 voice chorale and was rehearsal accompanist as well as chorus director for two performances every year with the Syracuse Musical Drama Company. Moving to Andover, Massachusetts, trumpet was played in the Merrimac Valley Philharmonic and I also sang in the Andover Chorale. As in Syracuse, I accompanied many youth choirs in Andover. Retiring to Naples Florida in 1992 to sail our Hunter 34' year round, the Riviera Retirement Community Chorus needed an accompanist for their two annual concerts, along with various church youth choirs and Sunday Hymn sings all continue to keep my piano busy. After Dick died November 2, 2007, I have continued my retirement in Naples, Florida. |
